In this role, you will leverage your lived experience and professional skills to provide empathetic, peer-led support that fosters recovery, resilience, and hope. Your energetic approach will inspire clients to take active steps toward their mental health and substance use recovery journeys. Responsibilities Engage with clients through one-on-one peer support sessions, sharing personal recovery experiences to foster trust and motivation. Provide crisis management and crisis intervention during urgent situations, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients in distress. Support individuals with co-occurring disorders by integrating behavioral health and addiction counseling strategies into their recovery plans. Advocate for clients' needs by connecting them with community resources and promoting harm reduction practices tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while documenting interactions accurately in compliance with privacy regulations. Mentor clients through goal setting, skill development, and relapse prevention techniques to empower ongoing recovery efforts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, mental health professionals, and addiction specialists to coordinate comprehensive care. Experience Lived experience with recovery from mental health conditions or substance use disorders, demonstrating resilience and insight that benefits others. Prior experience working with individuals facing behavioral health challenges or in peer support roles is highly preferred. Knowledge of crisis management techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and harm reduction principles. Familiarity with working with culturally diverse communities to ensure respectful, inclusive support services. Background in social work, addiction counseling, or mental health counseling enhances effectiveness in this role. Strong client communication skills with the ability to share personal recovery stories authentically and motivate others.
