Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Navigator to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing housing instability. In this vital role, you will serve as a bridge to connect clients with safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options. Your energetic approach and expertise will empower clients to overcome barriers, navigate complex housing systems, and access critical resources. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse communities, support high-risk populations, and promote equitable housing solutions through proactive case management and advocacy. Duties Assist clients in identifying suitable housing options by providing comprehensive guidance on available programs such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, and other housing assistance initiatives Conduct thorough assessments of client needs, including mental health conditions, addiction issues, and high-risk factors, to develop personalized housing plans Advocate on behalf of clients during negotiations with landlords and property managers to secure housing placements that meet their needs Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients facing urgent housing or personal safety issues Educate clients on Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant law, and their rights under Housing and Urban Development (HUD) policies Utilize property management tools like OneSite to track client progress, document interactions, and coordinate services efficiently Collaborate with social services agencies, mental health providers, addiction counselors, and community organizations to ensure holistic support for clients Skills Strong negotiation skills to advocate effectively for clients in securing housing opportunities Expertise in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and HUD policies Experience working with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with property management software such as OneSite is a plus Ability to work with individuals experiencing homelessness or high-risk situations with sensitivity and professionalism Excellent client communication skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques to foster trust and engagement Background in social work or social services with experience supporting individuals from underserved communities Familiarity with housing programs like LIHTC, Section 8 vouchers, and other federal or local assistance initiatives Ability to manage case loads effectively while maintaining detailed documentation of client interactions and progress Why Join Us? Pay:
$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 40.0 per week
