HOURS ARE NOON-5 P.M., MONDAY-FRIDAY
•The Administrative Support Specialist will assist the Parks & Recreation Office Manager and departmental staff with City-wide room rentals, including the City of Wildwood Community Center, Municipal Services Complex, Oxford, MLK, ball fields and other community spaces such as the City Hall courtyard. The part-time Support Specialist will provide customer service support for special events, including website and social media updates, answering phones, etc. Examples of Duties Performs routine clerical work in answering phones, receiving the public, and provide customer service Provide administrative support to departmental staff Respond to inquiries and resolve administrative issues that may arise Composes, types, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness Create, maintain, organize and enter information into databases and use various computer applications Responsible for maintaining filing systems, control records, and indexes using moderate independent judgment as directed Assist with managing rentals/bookings of City's Parks & Recreation facilities Maintains rental schedule and communicates event needs and/or changes to the office manager or appropriate staff Assists in planning and preparation of City events and programs Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on department needs Receives the public and answers questions; responds to inquiries from employees, citizens, and other and refers, when necessary, to appropriate persons Conducts building walk-throughs with potential renters or upon request from patrons prior to events Adheres to Facility Rentals Standard Operating Procedures; enforces and communicates rental rules and regulations to the public All other tasks as assigned Typical Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent One (1) year of increasingly responsible related experience Previous Parks & Recreation experience preferred Must have a valid Florida Driver's License Working knowledge of computers and electronic data processing Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written Ability to effectively handle stressful situations
