Make a Difference Every Day Meals on Wheels of Hancock County is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Program & Volunteer Coordinator to help ensure older adults and individuals with disabilities receive nutritious meals and support services that allow them to live independently with dignity.
This position serves as the operational backbone of our organization by coordinating client services, managing meal delivery routes, and supporting our dedicated volunteers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with people, and is committed to serving the community.

Position Summary The Program & Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for supporting client intake, volunteer recruitment and management, meal route coordination, program documentation, and overall program operations. This role ensures that Meals on Wheels services are delivered efficiently, accurately, and compassionately.
Determine eligibility based on program and funding requirements
Maintain accurate and confidential client records
Coordinate client assessments, follow-ups, and annual reviews
Explain program services, fees, and payment options to clients and families Program Operations
Schedule, coordinate, and update daily meal delivery routes
Monitor service continuity and address route or delivery issues
Maintain compliance documentation and program records
Assist with reporting and data collection requirements
Support daily office operations and program administration Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, onboard, train, and schedule volunteer drivers
Maintain volunteer records and scheduling calendars
Provide ongoing communication and support to volunteers
Ensure adequate coverage for meal delivery routes
Assist with volunteer recognition and retention efforts
Assist with scheduling volunteers for organizational events Community & Client Relations
Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, families, volunteers, and community partners
Respond to phone calls, emails, and general inquiries
Represent Meals on Wheels positively and professionally in the community Administrative Support
Assist with data entry, filing, and record maintenance
Support organizational projects and initiatives

Qualifications Required
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently and collaboratively Preferred
Experience in nonprofit administration, volunteer management, social services, healthcare, or human services
Experience with CRM, database, or scheduling software
Experience coordinating volunteers or community-based programs
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to travel within Hancock County to provide back-up support for meal delivery as needed
Ability to operate standard office equipment

00 to $22.00 with paid holidays. Mileage reimbursed based on IRS Standard.
