In this role, you will serve as a vital connector, providing peer-led support rooted in shared lived experience, fostering hope, resilience, and recovery. Your energetic approach will help empower clients to achieve their goals, manage crises effectively, and build stronger community connections. This paid position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team committed to compassionate care and recovery. Duties Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients toward positive change Assist clients in developing recovery plans using motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies Conduct crisis management and intervention when necessary, ensuring safety for clients and staff Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to coordinate care and support client needs within electronic health record (EHR) systems Engage with culturally diverse communities, respecting individual backgrounds and promoting inclusive support practices Advocate for client rights and promote peer support initiatives that foster empowerment and community integration Qualifications Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery, with the ability to share insights authentically and responsibly Knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, harm reduction, and crisis intervention techniques Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or complex mental health needs Strong client communication skills, demonstrating empathy, active listening, and motivational interviewing abilities Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and ethical standards Familiarity with social work practices and working within diverse cultural communities is preferred Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and care coordination Join us as a Peer Support Specialist to help transform lives through compassionate advocacy, shared experience, and unwavering support. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
