Respite Worker

Job Description

Duties:
The Respite Program Specialist will provide Hourly respite services and
CFTSS -PSR
services to children with emotional, social, and/or behavioral challenges. The Program Specialist may also take responsibility for different areas of the Respite Programming and activities. Individual Hourly Respite a. Together with the Program Manager conduct the initial visit to include introductions, explanation of the Hourly Respite Services requirements and expectations and completion of the necessary paperwork prior to the first respite visit. b. Provide Respite services in home and/or out of home on day and times agreed upon. c. Consults with supervisor regarding issues requiring appropriate interventions or involving uncertainly. d. May assist in program development utilizing knowledge of needs gained through services to families. Individual Hourly Respite Reporting a. Maintain and keep current individual child's records and submit a progress note for each hourly respite visit provided. b. Keep all program expenses updated. c. Submit time on ADP daily. d. Reports any incidents to the Program Manager and files and incident report within 24 hours. Contribution - CFTSS, Hourly Respite a. Actively participate in the cooperative efforts of the division. b. Participates in activities which contribute to the overall welfare of the agency. c. Other duties as assigned by the Department Director. Qualifications a. High School Diploma or equivalent and two years experience working in children's mental health, addiction and or foster care or a bachelors degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services or a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services. b. Clean driving record required. c. Must have three years driving experience with own license. d. Knowledge of community resources, mental health diagnosis and child development required. e. Self - starting, motivated individual able to work flexible hours. f. Excellent interpersonal- skills, communication skills, and organizational skills required.
