Job Summary The Substance Abuse Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction and related mental health issues. This position involves providing counseling services, developing treatment plans, and facilitating group therapy sessions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavior management techniques and be skilled in various therapeutic modalities to promote recovery and well-being. Duties Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse issues. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments. Utilize behavior management strategies to support clients in their recovery journey. Maintain accurate and timely client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and any other required documentation in accordance with confidentiality standards and regulations. Provide education on addiction, mental health, and coping strategies to clients and their families. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care. Stay updated on best practices in addiction counseling and mental health support. Requirements Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field An active LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or Registered Intern in Florida Experience in mental health counseling, particularly with addiction-related issues. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and case management processes. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective client interaction. Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to helping individuals achieve recovery goals.
