Group Facilitator
Job Description
Responsible for running two groups on Sunday's and to be on site from 9am-1pm.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Group Facilitator is a vital member of our treatment team, responsible for leading group therapy sessions and activities. This role involves creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop coping strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of addiction and recovery, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to facilitating group dynamics.JOB SPECIFICIATONS
- Lead group therapy sessions, including but not limited to psychoeducation, process groups, skill-building, and relapse prevention.
- Develop and implement group activities and curriculums that align with the treatment goals of the center.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive group environment that encourages open communication and mutual respect among clients.
- Monitor and assess group dynamics, providing appropriate interventions to address conflicts or disruptive behaviors.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure the integration of group therapy into overall client care.
- Document client progress and group participation accurately and timely in accordance with center policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in addiction treatment and group therapy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Certification or licensure in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC, LADC) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in facilitating group therapy sessions, particularly within a substance abuse treatment setting.
- Strong understanding of addiction, recovery, and the therapeutic process.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
