Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Substance Abuse Counselor in our Residential Program for Men, where your expertise will transform lives through compassionate, evidence-based care. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive counseling and support to men battling substance use disorders, guiding them toward recovery and long-term wellness. Duties Conduct thorough client assessments to evaluate substance use history. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy to address substance use and related issues. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction education, CBT, and relapse prevention strategies. Implement crisis intervention techniques to manage urgent situations effectively while maintaining client safety and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate clinical documentation including medical records, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems following medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, patient care, and community resources ensuring comprehensive support for clients' recovery journeys. Engage in ongoing research and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes and improve program effectiveness based on evidence-based practices. Skills Extensive knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management techniques. Strong experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions across diverse cultural backgrounds. Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health strategies to support clients during difficult moments. Ability to manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) efficiently while adhering to HIPAA standards for maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
