About Us Long Island Center for Recovery Inc., a fifty-six-bed inpatient substance use disorder treatment facility, provides licensed medically supervised drug and alcohol detoxification and inpatient rehabilitation services to individuals dealing with addiction who are over the age of eighteen. Long Island Center for Recovery is certified by the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports, and is also accredited by The Joint Commission. Our addiction treatment programs combine traditional, evidence-based treatment with holistic approaches, delivered in both individual and group settings. We emphasize education, self-exploration, and healing through a balanced blend of therapeutic, experiential, and expressive modalities. Job Summary As a Substance Use Counselor in a 28-day inpatient program, your primary responsibility will be to provide therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. You will work in a structured, supportive environment to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety while addressing the emotional, mental, and behavioral aspects of addiction. Through individual and group counseling, assessments, and treatment planning, you will guide clients in their recovery journey. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans, monitor client progress, and ensure a safe and supportive treatment environment.. Responsibilities Serve as the primary case manager for assigned patients. Develop an initial discharge plan within 24 hours of admission. Complete a psychosocial assessment within 72 hours (if not already completed by an ancillary counselor). Formulate an initial treatment plan at the time of the psychosocial assessment. Complete comprehensive clinical treatment plan within five days of admission. Meet with each assigned patient weekly to review and document treatment plan progress. Facilitate group therapy sessions with assigned patients five times per week. Conduct psychoeducational workshops according to the monthly schedule. Provide individual counseling sessions as needed. Assess patients for additional service referrals and coordinate appropriate care. Maintain regular contact with referral sources, ensuring all required documentation is provided. Communicate with family members, legal representatives and additional collateral contacts as needed. Participate in case conferences and patient/staff interventions. Develop comprehensive continuing care plans. Ensure timely facilitation of discharges, considering insurance certifications and authorizations. Complete discharge summaries in a timely manner. Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure chart integrity. Participate in the peer review process. Participate in individual/group supervision. Be available for crisis intervention as needed. Qualifications Minimum New York State CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism Substance Abuse Counselor), OR New York State Education Department issued licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Join our team to provide impactful recovery services that empower individuals toward healthier lives through compassionate, evidence-based care!
Pay:
$27.00 - $39.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
