Job Description

Bridgeway Community Health is currently seeking a qualified Bilingual Substance Use Counselor for our new Outpatient office in Woodburn, Oregon. A sign-on bonus of $3,000 will be available to th e successful new external candidate!!! Primary Purpose Substance Abuse Counselors build an alliance with clients by providing education and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their lives and reducing the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse. Substance Abuse Counselors provide client-centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed services. They use motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active service engagement. They conduct assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5; they work collaboratively and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals. They facilitate evidenced-based groups and conduct individual counseling sessions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides client centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma informed services. Uses motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active engagement in services. Conducts assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5. Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless. Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals. Facilitates evidenced based groups. Conducts individual counseling sessions. Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation including group notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts made concerning the client. Monitors random urinalysis testing. Completes monthly status reports for all clients on caseload and facilitates sending them to providers involved with client's care. Qualifications and Experience Requires an Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university. In addition to formal education, the qualified candidate will generally have at least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience. CADC I certification or higher with MHACBO. Bilingual. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer and time management skills required to work effectively. Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5 required. Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
