Full Job Description Job Summary Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated full time Addiction Counselor to join our team. Must be certified or have the ability to become certified as an Addiction Counselor Trainee/Supervisee. The ideal candidate will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with addiction, helping them on their path to recovery.Skills:
- Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and evaluations as assigned.
- Facilitate outpatient group therapy sessions and individual counseling sessions.
- Document client's participation in all scheduled group and counseling sessions.
- Develop discharge summaries on all clients and send to appropriate individuals.
- Complete release/consent forms to all appropriate individuals/agencies.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings.
- Insure that all charting and all patient records comply with accreditation requirements.
- Keep referral agencies informed of client's progress in treatment.
- Attend training required for professional certification to meet program licensing standards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Minimum of high school diploma and certifiable at ACT/S or CAC level for addiction counseling in the state of South Dakota. Must be certified or have the ability to become certified as an Addiction Counselor Trainee/Supervisee. Must be willing to work evenings and/or Saturday. If interested in working in the chemical dependency field, we can train. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
