Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties Conduct thorough client assessments using diagnostic tools such as DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to determine substance use severity and co-occurring disorders Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans incorporating behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and relapse prevention Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, discharge planning, and community resource linkage for home and community care support Maintain accurate clinical documentation adhering to medical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) management protocols Conduct client intake assessments, ongoing patient care evaluations, and behavioral health screenings using standardized tools such as CPT coding and ICD-10 codes Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field with relevant clinical licensure or certification (e.g., CADC, LADC) preferred Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in clinical or community settings Strong knowledge of addiction medicine, behavioral health interventions, DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based practices in addiction counseling Skilled in psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and applied behavior analysis (ABA) Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques, trauma-informed care (including PTSD care), and working with diverse cultural backgrounds Proficiency in medical terminology, medical records management, EMR/EHR systems, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards Excellent client communication skills with the ability to perform comprehensive client assessments in therapy settings Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for maintaining patient confidentiality and handling sensitive medical documentation Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams providing mental health counseling, addiction treatment, case management, and patient care services Join us in transforming lives through compassionate care! Pay:

$25.33 - $30.51 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
