In this role, you will foster positive development, provide guidance, and serve as a role model for youth from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Build trusting relationships with youth by offering consistent support, encouragement, and mentorship. Develop and implement engaging activities aligned with youth development programs that promote social-emotional learning and life skills. Collaborate with families, schools, and community organizations to support the holistic needs of youth, including case management when necessary. Utilize positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) strategies to promote respectful behavior and conflict resolution within program settings. Support high-risk populations by providing tailored guidance, behavioral health resources, and crisis intervention when needed. Maintain accurate documentation of youth progress, program participation, and communication logs using Microsoft Office tools. Advocate for culturally diverse communities by creating inclusive environments that respect individual backgrounds and experiences. Skills Experience working with children and adolescents in educational, childcare, or youth program settings. Knowledge of special education needs and experience supporting individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges. Strong understanding of adolescent development principles and effective mentoring techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for record keeping and reporting purposes. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations. Excellent communication skills for engaging with youth, families, educators, and community partners. Conflict management skills combined with positive behavioral interventions to foster respectful interactions. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse populations effectively.
