Overview Join our vibrant team as an After-School Counselor and become a vital part of creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school hours. In this role, you will facilitate enriching activities, supervise children, and promote positive development through structured programs and creative engagement. Duties Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead and facilitate a variety of youth activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational programs Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and positive interactions among children Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational reinforcement based on individual student needs Maintain a clean and organized activity space, adhering to safety protocols such as first aid procedures and emergency response plans Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that arise Support the planning and execution of special events or outdoor activities that enhance youth engagement Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and respectful environment Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or camp experience Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Ability to perform first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and follow first aid protocols effectively Proven experience facilitating youth group activities or teaching young children in various settings Excellent child supervision skills with a focus on safety during indoor and outdoor activities Background in special education or experience working with diverse learner needs is a plus Strong team leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and program staff Creative teaching methods including theater or arts-based activities to engage children actively Experience in outdoor work environments or outdoor activity facilitation is desirable Join us in inspiring young minds through dynamic programming that promotes growth, learning, and fun! Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 per week
