The Youth Counselor Advocate provides trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, case management, and therapeutic programming for children and adolescents impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and other forms of interpersonal trauma. Working collaboratively with non-offending caregivers and multidisciplinary staff, this position conducts assessments, develops service plans, facilitates individual and group interventions, and supports children's emotional safety and healing. 35 hours per week - this role requires afternoon and evening hours at least 3 days a week This role also partners across the agency to strengthen child-focused services, contributes to prevention initiatives, and provides education to staff and community partners.

Principal Responsibilities:

Conduct trauma-informed assessments to identify children's emotional, behavioral, developmental, and safety needs. Provide individual counseling, family support, advocacy, and case management to children and their non-offending caregivers. Assist families in accessing community resources and referrals that support safety, stability, and well-being. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate age-appropriate therapeutic groups for children and adolescents. Coordinate services for children receiving support across Clinical Services and Safe House programs. Collaborate with advocates, therapists, shelter staff, and community partners to ensure integrated service delivery. Complete assessments, case notes, service plans, referrals, and all required documentation accurately and within agency timelines. Maintain confidential client records in accordance with agency policy, HIPAA, confidentiality requirements, and applicable state regulations. Collect program outcome data and assist with grant reporting requirements as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field (required). Strong knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and experience working with survivors. Familiarity with child welfare systems and community resources, experience working in Mercer County preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Exceptional communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-stress environments and manage complex cases with attention to detail and timelines. Proficient computer and data analysis skills with the ability to learn new software

Pay:

$60,000.00 per year
