Responsibilities:

Provide clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and ongoing counseling services for children and adolescents of clients who have experienced intimate partner violence. Maintain up-to-date documentation of services to include client intake form, privacy/confidentiality statement, danger assessment, safety plan, and consent/release forms. Complete psychosocial assessment for history of trauma and victimization. Apply knowledge of the dynamics of intimate partner violence (IPV), child abuse, and neglect to deliver trauma-informed, therapeutic services to clients referred through Sistercare's Service/Crisis Line, Counselors, Advocates, and community agency partners. Provide psychoeducational counseling and therapeutic activities for children and adolescents ages 4 - 17 in a safe, designated community-based environment. Assess clients for parenting concerns, family dynamics, and emotional stressors, and provide counseling, support, and appropriate resources as needed. Receive referrals from intra-agency staff and make necessary referrals to other Sistercare community programs and outside agencies (if applicable) for continuity of services. Collaborate with the Clinical Team to provide therapeutic consultation, coordinate client care, develop treatment goals, and participate in case staffing. Learn, understand, and adhere to Clinical Department policies, procedures, and practice guidelines. Provide timely and accurate reports as required or requested. Participate in staff meetings, case staffing, and other agency meetings. Input direct service and collateral time in Sistercare's client database management system according to Sistercare policy and procedures. Attend twelve (12) hours of Victim Service Provider (VSP) training each year to remain in compliance and maintain an active status as a VSP (optional for LMSW and LPC certified counselors). Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling (LPC) required with a specialization in trauma-informed care. Must have and maintain SC SW or LPC license and active membership in NASW or ACA. Minimum one year of direct counseling service with children, preferably in crisis intervention. Possess a solid understanding of counseling dynamics, modalities, and techniques. Understanding intimate partner violence and its effect on survivors and their children. Skilled in working with sensitive issues and commitment to respecting confidentiality and privacy of client's information. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with staff and clients. Familiar with other community human services programs and resources. Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations in an independent manner. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Schedule:

Approximately 10 hours per week; schedule and hours may vary!

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour
