Afterschool Program Lead Do you love creating unforgettable experiences for kids? Are you energetic, creative, and passionate about helping children learn, play, and thrive? The Sensory Zone is looking for an enthusiastic Afterschool Program Lead who is excited to lead adventures, inspire creativity, and build meaningful relationships with children every day. As our Afterschool Program Lead you'll lead engaging activities, encourage imaginative play, and help children develop important social, emotional, and life skills. What You'll Do:
Safely Transport Our Campers Safely drive our 12-passenger Sensory Zone van to pick up children from local schools and transport them back to The Sensory Zone. Complete daily vehicle safety checks and ensure children are transported safely at all times. Lead Amazing Adventures Plan and lead exciting daily activities including: STEM and sensory experiences Arts and crafts Gym games and active play Imaginative play adventures Outdoor activities Team-building games Life skills and enrichment activities Create a Safe & Positive Environment Ensure every child feels welcomed, included, and supported. Maintain constant supervision and follow all safety policies and procedures. Encourage kindness, confidence, teamwork, and respectful behavior. Help children navigate challenges using positive behavior guidance and problem-solving techniques. Lead Our Team Inspire and support Afterschool staff while creating a fun, energetic workplace. Help organize daily schedules and transitions. Ensure activities are engaging, organized, and developmentally appropriate. Model professionalism, positivity, flexibility, and teamwork every day. Support Child Development Encourage independence, creativity, communication, and friendship-building. Adapt activities to meet the unique needs of every child. Support children with varying abilities through patience, encouragement, and individualized approaches. Build Relationships Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's day. Work closely with fellow team members to create exceptional experiences for every family. Help create a welcoming community where children can't wait to come back each day. Be Ready for Anything Respond confidently to emergencies using First Aid, CPR, and AED procedures. Assist with daily setup, cleanup, organization, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment. What We're Looking For We're searching for someone who is: Passionate about working with children Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic Patient, dependable, and responsible A natural leader who enjoys motivating others Organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment Flexible and ready to jump into whatever the day brings Comfortable leading large groups of children with confidence and positivity Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required) Ability to safely drive a 12-passenger van Experience working with children through childcare, camps, schools, recreation programs, babysitting, or youth organizations Strong classroom and behavior management skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to lift, bend, move, and actively participate in games and activities throughout the day Preferred Qualifications First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience with sensory needs, special education, or inclusive programming Leadership or supervisory experience Experience planning engaging activities for elementary-age children Why You'll Love Working at The Sensory Zone At The Sensory Zone, we believe childhood should be filled with imagination, laughter, movement, creativity, and meaningful connections.
