The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading engineering projects, designing and implementing solutions, and mentoring the development of team members. Essential Job Functions:
Product Engineering :
Utilize shop drawings created by drafters to engineer millwork products, ensuring they meet design specifications, functionality, and manufacturability standards.
CNC Programming :
Develop and generate programs for CNC routers.
Software Proficiency :
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Cabinet Vision, or Microvellum) is required.
Collaboration :
Work closely with production staff, drafters, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of engineered products into the production workflow.
Continuous Improvement :
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering processes, demonstrating an open mind and a willingness to adapt and improve historical practices.
Quality Assurance :
Provide production staff with complete and well-thought-out engineering designs, ensuring all products meet quality standards and client specifications.
Problem-Solving :
Address and resolve any engineering issues that arise during the production process, maintaining clear and effective communication with all relevant departments.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
Minimum of a 2-year degree in engineering, drafting, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 2+ years of combined drafting/engineering experience in a related field. Familiarity with CAD drafting software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Solidworks, MasterCAM, AlphaCAM etc.) Understanding of architectural drawings and/or engineering prints Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external clients. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for precision and accuracy in CAD drafting. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
Desired:
Knowledge of millwork fabrication processes.
