Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Freelance/ Self-employed/ Contractor Desktop Support Technician - II to deliver exceptional IT support services across diverse organizational environments. In this role, you will be the frontline technical expert responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing desktop and network systems. Your energetic approach will ensure seamless user experiences, quick resolution of technical issues, and robust support for hardware and software infrastructure. This position offers the flexibility to work independently while contributing significantly to the efficiency of our clients' IT operations. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive technical support for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Troubleshoot hardware issues such as computer hardware failures, equipment setup, and component replacements to minimize downtime. Resolve software problems related to operating systems, applications like Microsoft Office, and help desk systems efficiently. Manage network troubleshooting tasks involving LAN (Local Area Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, VPN (Virtual Private Network), GPO (Group Policy Objects), and TCP connections to ensure reliable connectivity. Support IT infrastructure by assisting with Active Directory management, user account setup, permissions, and computer management. Utilize help desk systems to document issues accurately, track ticket statuses, and communicate effectively with end-users for timely resolutions. Conduct analysis of recurring issues to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. Assist in configuring and supporting mobile devices and remote access solutions to enable flexible work environments. Collaborate with clients to deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication, patience, and technical expertise. Experience Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a focus on hardware troubleshooting and software diagnostics. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (including Windows 10/11), macOS, and Linux environments. Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as
LAN/WAN, TCP/IP
protocols, DNS management, VPN setup, and network troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience with Active Directory management and Group Policy configuration. Skilled in using help desk ticketing systems for issue tracking and resolution documentation. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals effectively. Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach to technical support. Knowledge of security protocols related to network access such as GPO policies and VPN security measures is a plus.
