Job Summary:

Integration Engineer

• Onsite (Greensboro, NC) About the Role Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to join our client's dynamic Greensboro, NC team on a full-time, onsite, 6-month contract assignment with a strong potential for extension.

This is a hands-on opportunity to design, build, and support cutting-edge middleware and API integration solutions within a collaborative and technology-driven environment. Be at the forefront of digital transformation, working with modern API technologies and integration patterns. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust middleware solutions for seamless application and system integration.
• Build and support APIs, integration services, gateways, and data-mapping components.
• Deliver both synchronous and asynchronous integrations tailored to business and technical needs.
• Implement API security, including authentication/token validation, data validation, and end-to-end monitoring/logging.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues in collaboration with cross-functional technical teams.
• Develop and update technical documentation detailing integrations, interfaces, dependencies, and operational procedures.
• Communicate integration concepts and technical designs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience
• 3+ years in integration engineering, software engineering, or data engineering with relevant integration experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect (APIC) and API Gateway technologies.
• Proficiency in REST APIs, API proxy creation, integration lifecycle management, and modern integration patterns.
• Programming experience in Java (preferred), JavaScript, or C#.
• Solid understanding of API security standards, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), and technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with Terraform, Spring Boot, Boomi, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Experience with OpenAPI, GraphQL, RPC technologies.
