Asset Management Data Analyst (Part-Time)

Summary The Part-Time Asset Management Data Analyst supports the Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism through the administration, maintenance, analysis, and optimization of the department's asset management systems, with a primary focus on the OpenGov Asset Management platform. This position assists with tracking departmental assets, maintaining accurate records, generating reports, and supporting operational planning and decision-making through data analysis and system management. The position works closely with parks operations, facilities maintenance, recreation programs, finance, and procurement staff to ensure accurate asset tracking, lifecycle management, reporting compliance, and data integrity across departmental operations. Essential Job Functions

  • Administer and maintain the OpenGov Asset Management system for departmental assets, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and update asset inventories, preventive maintenance schedules, warranties, replacement schedules, and lifecycle records.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations related to asset utilization, maintenance activities, expenditures, and operational performance.
  • Analyze asset and operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, maintenance concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with inventory audits and verification of departmental assets.
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership, budgeting, capital improvement planning, and grant compliance.
  • Assist with implementation and enhancement of asset management procedures and reporting workflows.
  • Maintain data integrity, quality assurance standards, and standardized asset tracking procedures.
  • Assist with data integration and reporting between OpenGov and other departmental systems w applicable.
  • Participate in special projects involving operational analytics, budgeting, capital planning, and performance measurement.
  • Respond to internal requests for statistical and operational information.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, inventory control, preventive maintenance tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Working knowledge of databases, SQL, and data management principles preferred.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret operational and asset-related data accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and reporting/dashboard tools.
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with data entry, spreadsheets, databases, asset management systems, or other related software.
Preferred:
  • Associate Degree or higher in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data organization, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience working with asset management or work order management software, such as Open Gov.

Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and experience may be considered.

Licenses or Certifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Special Requirements:
  • May occasionally work evenings or weekends based on departmental operational needs.
  • Must be able to travel between departmental facilities and park locations as required.
Additional Information Physical Demands:

Work is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment with prolonged periods of computer use. Occasional site visits to parks, recreational facilities, and tourism locations may be required. Light lifting of materials or equipment up to 50 pounds may occasionally be necessary.
