You will work in a small team and travel between nearby data center facilities to complete standardized inspections of server lift equipment. This is a hands-on inspection and documentation role rather than a repair position. You will follow a detailed 18-point inspection checklist, document the results, and submit reports through a mobile application at the end of each shift. Previous data center experience is helpful but not required. Training, tools, and inspection manuals will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1 year of relevant experience in equipment inspection, quality control, preventative maintenance, field service, warehouse operations, mechanical work, or data center operations. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around mechanical and electrical equipment and using hand tools. Ability to follow printed inspection manuals, checklists, and technical instructions accurately and consistently. Strong attention to detail when recording asset and serial numbers, handwritten notes, and inspection findings. Comfortable walking throughout data center facilities and frequently bending and crouching to inspect equipment. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to take direction, provide progress updates, and submit inspection reports through a mobile application. Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel between approximately 1-4 data centers per day. Ability to pass a thorough background check required for client site access.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform standardized inspections on server lift equipment using printed inspection manuals and checklists. Inspect mechanical and structural components for wear, damage, leaks, loose hardware, and other deficiencies. Complete basic functional, mechanical, and battery checks using provided tools and testing equipment. Accurately document equipment locations, asset and serial numbers, inspection results, and other findings, including maintaining handwritten inspection records in restricted areas where mobile devices are not permitted. Submit complete digital reports through the Smartsheet mobile application by the end of each workday. Document deficiencies and escalate equipment issues, safety concerns, access issues, unavailable lifts, or other discrepancies to the Team Lead rather than performing out-of-scope repairs.
EXPECTATIONS
Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and attention to quality throughout the project. Work collaboratively as part of a four-person team consisting of one Team Lead and three Technicians. Travel daily between multiple data center sites across Northern Virginia, which are geographically grouped to minimize unnecessary travel. Strictly follow all client safety, security, PPE, and equipment-handling protocols. Commit to the full project schedule, working November 9th-25th, followed by a scheduled break, and returning December 7th-11th to complete the project. Adapt to changing site conditions, schedules, and project priorities as needed.
Pay:
$25.00 per hour Application Question(s): Are you currently a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder? Please enter your current city, state, and ZIP code.
