Job Description

Job SummaryBuilding a physical activity LiDAR dataset: collection, labeling, and augmentation for human activity recognition and premature infants.

Responsibilities•Assist in the collection of LiDAR data and perform various physical activities under different environmental conditions. Support the setup, calibration, and operation of LiDAR sensors during data collection sessions. Organize, preprocess, and manage collected point cloud datasets to ensure data quality and consistency. Label and annotate LiDAR recordings with activity classes, temporal boundaries, and relevant metadata. Verify annotation accuracy through quality control and validation procedures.

Required Qualifications•Current undergraduate student at UM-Flint in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

Basic programming skills.

Desired Qualifications•Preferred junior or senior standing.

Modes of WorkOnsiteThe work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of MichiganPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
