09/11/2026 The GIS Intern performs entry-level work supporting the department's Geographic Information System (GIS) projects and services. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience to individuals interested in GIS careers. Under supervision, the intern assists with data collection, mapping, and analysis tasks and gains exposure to real-world municipal GIS applications for the Utilities Services Admin Department . Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED Enrolled in an accredited college/university program or recently completed a degree or certificate program in geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related program Valid NC driver's license or valid out-of-state driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver's license within sixty days of employment and good driving record Work Schedule Monday - Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm, up to 29 hours per week.
