GIS Analyst I This position performs routine and complex GIS data analyses and database-related assignments for the city departments. The employee will have the responsibility of:

• Performing a variety of Citywide GIS application development functions
• Evaluating, installing, maintaining, and enhancing GIS applications
• Creating custom GIS web applications and maintaining databases, functions, and services
• Understanding of scripting within the ArcGIS environment
• Overseeing and updating several land-based related data sets and coordinating on regional 911 addressing issues for the City of Killeen
• Updating addresses within the Naviline Land Management database as needed
• Utilizing data entry, data migration, and manipulation techniques to complete tasks
• Understanding properties of maps, including distance, scales, and legends
• Identifying source documents used to create maps, creating metadata to support GIS applications
• Having knowledge of ESRI's SDE Enterprise functionality and MS SQL
• Collecting and converting mapping resources and data within the scopes of services for the Engineering/GIS division
• Performing ad hoc mapping duties including advanced spatial and network analysis
• Utilizing ArcGIS Model Builder to perform spatial analysis and develop applications
• Preparing reports, graphical and tabular, using GIS tools
• Collecting and converting field data using a Global Positioning System device and field equipment The work environment will require the employee to:

• Associates degree in GIS or related field; and
• One (1) year of experience in GIS position or related field; or
• Any equivalent combination of related education and experience that is equal to or greater than 3 years

• Must have a valid Texas driver's license by date-of-hire
