IT Director Location:
Boca Raton, Florida Type:
Full-Time/In-Person A mid-sized law firm is seeking an IT Director to join our firm's team in Boca Raton. This role will oversee both operational IT infrastructure and forward-looking legal-tech innovation - optimizing business workflow, enhancing client service, securing sensitive data, and steering cloud services serving employees nationally and internationally. You will work closely with the shareholders and legal operations. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Leadership Develop and manage a tech roadmap that aligns with firm goals, emphasizing strategic innovation, efficiency, and scalability. LegalTech & Innovation Evaluate and implement legal solutions—e.g. case management, document management, ediscovery, contract automation, and generative AI capabilities—to drive productivity gains. Infrastructure & Cloud Transformation Oversee IT systems, legacy modernization, managed services, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.

Build a robust information security framework, including data privacy standards and firmwide training Manage third party IT vendor relationships and review/make recommendations for third-party software vendors Partner with legal, finance, and operations to integrate technology tools into workflows. Lead change management programs so tech adoption aligns with the firm's culture. Develop and steward the technology budget—balancing innovation investments with cost discipline. Stay current on legaltech trends and lead risk management/audit cycles for tech systems.
Qualifications & Experience Cybersecurity & Compliance Team & Vendor Oversight Collaboration & Change Management Budgeting & Resource Allocation Thought Leadership & Risk Oversight Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of progressive technology leadership in a law firm or professional services environment. Proven success with platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop and ability to become familiar with and manage the various software platforms used by the firm; Microsoft 365 certifications a plus Familiarity and/or willingness to learn our various software platforms a must.
Examples are:
Vonage, Salesforce, O365, Zapier, Phaxio, Anydesk, and various custom built platforms.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communicator—able to translate tech topics for nontechnical stakeholders. Strategic thinker, change management advocate, and collaborative leader.
