Banking Core Technology Manager

Job Description

Pay Range:
$90,918
  • $127,739 (Annually)
Function:
The Banking Core Technology Manager is expected to be adept at managing employees and teams who are charged with oversight of complex systems at the core of the bank's operations. The Banking Core Technology Manager will also play a key role in supporting current and emerging RPA and AI tools; technology projects; vendor management, including contract negotiation; execution of procedures and standards related to the complete lifecycle of the technologies assigned; and risk management.
Accountabilities Ensures that the team:
Provides outstanding customer service, partnering with and supporting internal customers Keeps systems up to date Maintains proper maintenance contracts and procedures Insures the reliability of systems Monitors system and application alerts, responding as needed to resolve outages and issues Assists with the design, testing and implementation of new systems and applications Continues learning to stay current with new technology and applications Contributes by: Providing project management leadership for technical initiatives, as needed Supporting, fulfilling and responding to Audit requests and findings Maintaining and developing relevant vendor relationships Facilitating the day-to-day relationship with Jack Henry for core banking systems Leading and participating in the development of Bank IT policies, procedures and process Developing and maintaining Bank IT best practices in accordance with business needs and industry recommendations Provides IT leadership in Disaster Recovery/ Business Continuity exercises Establishes and maintains good working relationships Encouraging innovation and experimentation with automation Performing other duties as assigned
Human Resources:
Management of assigned personnel Support and mentor team members Manage and enhance employee morale Find and retain key employees Implement staffing and scheduling models to ensure adequate coverage to the bank. Making or recommending action for subordinates regarding employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers and terminations. Resolve or escalate general personnel problems Coordinate activities with the other teams within IT, and with other departments across the Bank Ensure proper change control procedures are followed by employees Train and guide team to effectively use established IT processes and procedures in the course of their work Enhance processes and procedures to increase efficiency, reliability, and security
Compliance and Control:
Assists in ensuring that the Bank complies with local, state and federal regulations Adheres to applicable Bank policies, processes and procedures Operates within the change control framework as it pertains to IT operations Competencies Leadership

  • Support company mission/values through daily actions and decisions, communicate the Bank's vision, mission and values to others, incorporates vision when planning Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience required; business and management experience and graduate degree preferred 7+ years of related and relevant employment experience Excellent interpersonal skills required Prior supervisory/management experience required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent analytic abilities Strong documentation skills, to include proficiency with MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-Visio Experience working successfully with third-parties in the course of troubleshooting or business-as-usual The desire and ability to maintain knowledge and skill currency within the fast-changing technological realm The ability to successfully lead team endeavors The ability to provide effective coaching, training and mentoring for other members of the Bank's IT team Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Familiarity with Jack Henry Silverlake and IBM iSeries is preferred
