In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our network systems. Your expertise will support a broad range of network technologies, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and network hardware, enabling seamless communication and data flow across all departments. Duties Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to connectivity, security breaches, or hardware failures swiftly to minimize downtime. Configure and support network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPsec, and MPLS to facilitate reliable data transmission. Manage network security measures including VPN configurations, firewall policies (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, Cisco ISE for identity management, PKI for certificate management, and vulnerability assessments. Assist with the deployment and support of network hardware like RAID controllers for storage solutions and SANs for data storage needs. Implement network upgrades and expansions using Cisco routers/switches, Juniper devices, or Meraki solutions while adhering to best practices in network architecture. Support system administration tasks across operating systems such as Windows Server environments, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS), Debian, openSUSE, Solaris, BSD variants, macOS, and VMware ESXi/vSphere platforms. Collaborate with IT teams on projects involving cloud services like AWS or Azure; utilize scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools like Ansible for efficient system management. Conduct regular network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds or PRTG to identify issues proactively and optimize performance through QoS policies and load balancing techniques. Document configurations and procedures thoroughly using GPOs (Group Policy Objects), DHCP/DNS settings, LDAP/Active Directory integration for user authentication. Experience Proven experience supporting complex computer networks with a solid understanding of LAN/WAN architecture and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. Hands-on knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers/switches; familiarity with Juniper or Meraki devices is a plus. Strong background in network security including firewall management (Cisco ASA), VPN setup (IPsec/VPN), IDS/IPS deployment, SSO integration, and vulnerability assessment practices. Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Hyper-V; familiarity with SAN/NAS storage solutions is advantageous. Skilled in scripting languages such as Python or Shell Scripting to automate routine tasks; experience with DevOps practices is desirable. Knowledge of ITIL framework principles for effective incident management; ability to perform system hardening and system troubleshooting across multiple operating systems. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) alongside traditional on-premises networks; understanding of high availability configurations ensures resilient infrastructure support.
