We are looking for a full-time, on-site IT Systems Administrator who is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Preference for candidates that reside within close proximity to our Bedford Park, Illinois facility. This position will initially support other more senior members of the IT operation. Advancement comes with the proven ability to complete the IT Administrator tasks without direct supervision. Linux proficiency required. RHEL preferred. Low-voltage experience preferred. Experience in an industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities:

Apply all pertinent OS, firmware and application security updates and patches as instructed. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations as requested. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software. Load computer tapes and disks, and install software and printer paper or forms. Install, harden and test computer hardware and OS. Support the Application Development team Research new technologies by reading trade articles, or taking classes, and implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies. Provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such as PBX, and VoIP system. Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs. Train people in computer system use. Desktop support in a cheerful and cooperative spirit. Plan, install, configure, maintain low-voltage systems that support the factory operations - intercoms, access controls, loudspeakers, occupancy sensors, signal lamps, cameras, etc. Maintain logs and documentation as required by compliance office.

Technical Skills:

Must be comfortable with Linux command line. Daily tasks will require monitoring and optimizing a farm of servers. Familiarity with basic computer and printer hardware required. Knowledge of basic networking required. Familiarity with ColdFusion, Python, CUPs and email deliverability a plus. Familiarity with Crowdstrike Falcon, SIEM, FileVantage a plus. Familiarity with physical plant systems (HVAC, access control, power conditioning and UPS) a plus.

Other:

While rare, travel out-of-state to our other facilities located in Cleveland and Phoenix may be required. Employment is conditional on successful completion of background and drug tests.
