Keep the lights on at one of southern Minnesota's biggest campgrounds. Kamp Dels is a third-generation family-owned resort in Waterville, MN. 530 campsites, a waterpark, arcade, restaurants, and a few thousand guests on a busy summer weekend. We've been here since 1955. Behind all of it is a real network — Cisco switching, fiber across the property, about 30 wireless access points, security cameras, point-of-sale in every outlet, and a grounds sound system. When it works, nobody thinks about it. When it doesn't, everybody does. We're hiring the person who owns it. What you'll do Keep the network up. Guest wi-fi across 530 sites, internal network, and every system the business runs on. You're first response when something goes down. Own the physical layer — switches, access points, cabling, fiber. If it's wired, it's yours. Install, manage, and maintain security cameras across the property. Install, manage, and maintain the grounds speaker system. Support the team day to day — point-of-sale, reservations, the cashless arcade system, back-office tools. You don't have to have built them. You have to be able to get them running again. Document what you build. Right now too much of this lives in people's heads. Plan and run infrastructure projects in the off-season. You won't be doing this alone. We have a network partner on contract for the deep architecture work and 24/7 escalation. You're the hands, the eyes, and the first call — not the last resort. What we're looking for
Required:
3+ years hands-on IT, network, or low-voltage systems work Real networking experience — VLANs, switching, wireless access points, troubleshooting a live network while people are waiting Comfortable running and terminating cable, mounting hardware, and working off a ladder You chase root cause instead of rebooting things and hoping Can explain a technical problem to a manager who isn't technical Valid driver's license Nice to have: CCNA or working toward it Cisco switching and wireless controller experience Camera systems, access control, or audio install background Point-of-sale or hospitality systems Experience at an ISP, WISP, or low-voltage integrator The honest version of this job Summer is busy. Peak weekends put thousands of people on this property and every one of them expects the wi-fi to work. There will be nights and weekends in season when something breaks and you're the one fixing it. Winter is quiet. That's the trade. You get year-round pay, time to document, plan, and study, and a stable job with a family business that isn't going anywhere. If you want to sit at a desk and only touch a keyboard, this isn't it. If you like owning something end to end and seeing the result, it is.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
