105 East Central College has an opening for a part-time, entry level Technical Support Technician responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, inventory, and security of technical resources. This is a part time position not to exceed 19.75 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Tasks:
( Employee must be able to perform the following essential functions to the satisfaction of the employee's supervisor.) Install, configure, and maintain classroom and office workstations and peripheral devices in accordance with established standards and procedures. Perform the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of software applications and suites; ensure compliance with license agreements and copyright legislation. Provide primary-level user support for installed workstations, peripheral devices, and standard software applications; serve as both primary responder and escalation coordinator for issues reported through the helpdesk system. Perform Windows Server maintenance including operating system updates and management of server-hosted software applications. Configure and administer software deployment tools including automated deployment platforms for efficient institution- wide software installation, updates, and maintenance. Administer network and local licensing servers for program-specific software. Deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-hosted endpoint security platforms; apply and manage security policies, maintain application whitelists, and administer security group memberships to protect institutional data and systems. Implement, configure, and support program-specific technology platforms including clinical simulation systems, document management systems, and other specialized instructional technology; coordinate program-specific network requirements including router setup and IP address reservations as needed. Administer cloud-based platforms including Microsoft OneDrive, Google Classroom, and Ellucian Experience; provide end user support and manage user accounts and access. Administer Chromebook and Chrome OS environments institution-wide including device provisioning, Chrome School administration, and Chrome OS Flex deployment. Manage the full lifecycle of institutional technology devices including procurement, receiving, configuration, deployment, repair, decommissioning, and coordination with recycling vendors for responsible disposal of retired hardware. Support and maintain VOIP telephone systems; configure new and replacement phones, manage end user setup and support, and coordinate with vendors on system issues. Backup and restore user account data including Microsoft Outlook and OneDrive accounts in connection with account resets, name changes, and employee transitions. Collaborate with network and systems staff to evaluate network requirements and develop solutions; assist with physical network infrastructure including cable tracing, port testing, hardware placement, and patch connections. Implement software utilities, install hardware devices, and develop procedures to ensure the security and reliability of equipment, software, and data resources. Compile and maintain operational, procedural, and informational documentation for equipment standards, configuration, inventory, troubleshooting, and repair procedures; develop end user documentation and training guides for hardware and software used by faculty, staff, and students. Provide informal training to new employees on standard technology systems and to faculty and instructors on classroom hardware, learning platforms, and instructional technology tools. Provide technology setup and support services for external groups utilizing college facilities, including projector and display systems, login credentials, and audiovisual equipment. Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and standards in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
Salary range:
$19.73 - $26.69 per hour. While the full salary range is provided for growth potential, most new hires are initially placed within the lower portion of the range based on experience and institutional compensation guidelines.
