Software Engineer#26-07693 Charlotte, NC Des Moines, IA Hybrid Contract Starts 8/03/2026 Ends 2/05/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Des Moines, IA. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. This role is part of a technology organization responsible for developing innovative solutions that streamline the home lending process. In this position, you will design, build, test, and support UI as well as Java-based backend services, REST APIs, and microservices. You will have the opportunity to work on an application withplex integration, cloud-native microservices, and an Agentic AI-based workflow while strengthening core development skills in Java, Spring Boot, and database technologies.

Responsibilities:

Participate in low to moderatelyplex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderatelyplex projects and programs Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains Design, code, test, debug, and document features and bug fixes using Java and Spring Boot Build and consume RESTful APIs supporting microservices and transaction workflows Learn and engineering standards, secure SDLC practices, and API design best practices database skills (SQL/NoSQL) to write queries, validate data flows, troubleshoot data issues, and support application logic Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding, generate test cases, and explore solution alternatives Build Agents using Gen AI and Agentic AI technologies Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional partners to support delivery goals and solution design Gain exposure to event-driven architecture concepts (Kafka, Pub Sub) and learn how messaging patterns support distributed systems Contribute to frontend or UI tasks using Angular or React when opportunities arise Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, retros, s planning, and code reviews Contribute to Generative AI features (LLM enabled workflows such as summarization, extraction, and assistant experiences) under guidance

Requirements:

4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or abination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 4+ years of Java development experience 4+ years of Java unit test case development experience 4+ years of JavaScript Frameworks experience such as with Angular or React JS 1 year of AI based development experience using GitHub Copilot/Claude/Devin 6 months of Generative AI and Agentic AI experience (Google ADK, Lang Chain, MCP) 6 months of Prompt Engineering experience Desired skills: 1+ years of cloud native microservice application development experience 1+ year of experience with developing automated functional testing using BDD Experience developing AI prototypes or Production AI Systems Spring Boot application development experience Agile Development methodologies OCP experience Hibernate experience MongoDB or related NoSQL database experience Oracle SQL experience Kafka or related Data Streaming technology experience (Kafka, PubSub) Cloud certification from any cloud providers Experience with Domain Driven Design principles Experience with application non-functional requirements including Monitoring (APM tools), Logging (Splunk), and Distributed tracing Experience in build and deploy tools such as Jenkins Knowledge and understanding of home mortgage origination process: applications, processing, and closing Pay range: $43.59 - $51.59 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
