Job Description

Your Job Chentronics, LLC is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Norwich, NY for Fall/Winter 2026. This onsite role provides hands-on experience in real-world embedded systems design, software development, and product implementation for industrial ignition and flame detection systems. Working alongside experienced engineers and a dedicated mentor, you will contribute to the design, testing, validation, documentation, and implementation of products used in demanding industrial applications. Onsite Role - Norwich, NY This co-op opportunity is designed as a full-time, onsite assignment in Norwich, New York. Co-op durations may vary between 4-8 months depending on the student's academic program and university schedule. From spark-gap ignition systems to modern semiconductor-based exciters and flame scanners, we continue to lead with quality, innovation, and solutions that solve complex ignition problems across Utilities, Petrochemical, Industrial, and Marine applications. What You Will Do
  • Assist in the design and implementation of embedded systems for industrial ignition and flame detection products
  • Support the selection and integration of embedded target devices, peripheral interfaces, and supporting electronic circuitry
  • Develop and implement embedded software using industry-standard programming practices
  • Assist in implementing and testing standard communication protocols and hardware interfaces
  • Design, build, and support product test equipment used for validation and production testing
  • Collaborate with a diverse engineering team through all phases of product development, including concept, design, testing, verification, documentation, and production support
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including code flowcharts, software documentation, work instructions, and code commenting standards
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback on product performance, reliability, and manufacturability Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Will be enrolled as a Junior-level student or higher at the start of the co-op assignment
  • Available to work full-time onsite in Norwich, NY for the duration of the co-op term (4-8 months) What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience programming in C, C++, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or electronic hardware projects through coursework, internships, clubs, or personal projects
  • Exposure to embedded software development, hardware interfacing, communication protocols, or electronics design .
