Our client, a rapidly scaling clean energy innovator, is hiring a Staff BESS Electrical Design Engineer to lead utility-scale lithium-ion storage projects from system sizing through construction. You'll be the in-house subject matter expert and Electrical Engineer of Record, designing the AC and DC systems that connect grid-scale batteries to the real world. NEC 705/706, IEEE 1547, UL 9540, NFPA
855, and local amendments — and lead those code reviews Perform short circuit, load flow, arc flash, and coordination studies for AC and DC systems Serve as Electrical Engineer of Record on assigned projects Coordinate civil, structural, fire & life safety, SCADA/telecom, and DC design teams into complete IFC packages Lead R D on MV-DC distribution for integrating BESS with other sources Provide construction administration — RFIs, submittals, change orders, site inspections Estimate costs, manage schedules, QA/QC designs, and mentor junior engineers What You'll Bring BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) Active PE (Nevada or reciprocity-eligible); NV and SC licensure within 2 months of start 5+ years in solar, energy storage, or microgrids — at least 3 focused on BESS design and deployment Proven interconnection and regulatory compliance expertise for BESS SME-level command of
NEC 705/706, IEEE 1547, UL 9540, NFPA 855
