The school bus driver ensures the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of students while maintaining discipline, vehicle safety, and effective communication with parents and school staff.
Responsibilities Include:
Safely Transport of Students:
Operate the bus on assigned routes, ensuring students arrive at school, extracurricular activities, and field trips safely and on time
Conduct Pre-Trip Inspections:
Check brakes, lights, tires, and safety equipment before each trip to ensure the bus is in proper working condition
Monitor Student Behavior:
Maintain order on the bus, address inappropriate behavior, and implement school policies to create a safe environment Assist Students with
Special Needs:
Help students with disabilities board and exit the bus safely, accommodating their specific requirements
Communicate Effectively:
Keep parents, students, and school officials informed about schedules, delays, or incidents
Maintain Bus Cleanliness:
Ensure the interior and exterior of the bus are clean and safe for passengers
Complete Reports and Documentation:
Record incidents, maintenance issues, and daily logs as required by the school or transportation department
Driving Expertise:
Knowledge of traffic laws, safe driving practices, and ability to operate a bus in various weather conditions
Safety Awareness:
Ability to identify hazards, respond to emergencies, and enforce safety protocols
Communication Skills:
Clear verbal and written communication with students, parents, and school staff
Patience and Discipline Management:
Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively
Time Management:
Punctuality and adherence to schedules for daily routes and special trips
Must:
Be Flexible, Reliable, and Willing to work Maintain a Texas Class B
  • CDL, with Passenger endorsement Pass a background check and drug screening Hourly Pay
  • $16.00 per hour Position
  • Part-Time.
