No Problem! This paid training program is designed to prepare qualified candidates to become fully licensed school bus drivers. You'll receive hands-on instruction, classroom learning, and on-the-road experience while earning a paycheck and making a positive impact in your community. What You'll Do During Training Learn to safely operate a school bus on assigned routes Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Train on student behavior management and emergency procedures Gain hands-on experience using special needs and safety equipment Learn traffic laws, safety regulations, and district communication protocols Develop professional communication and teamwork skills Attend safety meetings and complete all required training activities
What We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license with a safe driving record At least 21 years of age Not currently disqualified under FMCSA regulations Ability to successfully obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Previous school transportation or commercial driving experience Strong communication and basic map-reading skills Ability to learn and follow policies, procedures, and safety standards Comfortable working with children, including students with disabilities Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations Team-oriented mindset, especially when working with bus monitors and staff Physical & Work Conditions Prolonged sitting and driving Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling Light lifting (up to 25 lbs) Work performed in varying weather conditions Exposure to vehicle fumes and road noise Availability for morning and afternoon shifts Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
