Summary Position Statement This position exists for the primary purpose of performing all duties involving the receipt of donated items and the sorting of such items into basic classifications as directed and determining those articled which may be retained for resale and which items should be trashed. This position reports directly to the Store Manager or assigned designee. Essential Functions/Roles & Responsibilities of the Position 1) Cordially greet customers who are dropping off donations and assist in their unloading as necessary. 2) Make judgment calls immediately on those items that can and or can not be accepted by the store. 3) Dispense donation receipts and coupons as appropriate. 4) Sort donated items by assigned category. 5) Use sound judgment to determine which items are resalable or trash. 6) Collapse all cardboard boxes prior to placing in trash dumpsters. 7) Maintain trash dumpster area in clean order (keep unnecessary trash picked up) and ensure the dumpster lids and gates are closed and locked at end of each workday. 8) Perform other duties as assigned.
