Job Description

Summary Description Test and calibrate voting equipment, site-check polling locations, and trouble-shoot equipment on Election Day, deliver, assemble, and retrieve voting equipment and supplies at precincts located throughout the county.

Dictated by workload following Election Day Typical hours are 9:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday-Friday, with extended hours for delivery day and Election Day Job Duties/Responsibilities Program election equipment using programming media and a checklist. Sorting, cleaning, inventorying and loading polling place supplies using a checklist. Loading and delivery of equipment prior to Election Day to county voting locations following a designated delivery route. Provide both technical and supply support to assigned polling locations on Election Day. Inspection of each assigned polling locations for compliance utilizing a checklist on Election Day. Transport election results following the closing of polls to the Commissioner of Elections on Election Night. Retrieve equipment from the polling locations post-election. Clean, sort and store equipment post-election. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid driver's license. Previous election experience preferred, but not necessary.

Physical & Environmental Characteristics The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light (24 pounds or less) and heavy (25 pounds or more) objects, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell. The work is typically performed in an office, stockroom, warehouses, and at polling places. The employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, and grease. Work may require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
