About the Role Tatra Solutions supports airfield and aircraft servicing operations at Fort McCoy Army Airfield, which handles rotary-wing aircraft (UH-60, CH-47) and fixed-wing aircraft up to the C-17, and dispenses roughly 200,000 gallons of aviation fuel annually. We are seeking two Aircraft Servicers to perform aircraft ground handling, ground support equipment operation, and petroleum/fuel (POL) operations in support of transient military units. This is a hands-on flightline position. You'll marshal aircraft, operate fuel trucks and ground support equipment, conduct refueling and defueling operations, and keep the airfield and fuel systems safe, clean, and mission-ready.
Hours:
Day shift within 06:00-22:00, Monday-Friday; occasional weekends and non-standard hours to meet training/exercise schedules Key Responsibilities Aircraft & ground handling: Marshal aircraft into and out of parking areas using proper hand-and-arm signals Provide ground handling: fueling, fire guard, parking guides, mooring, and repositioning Operate and maintain ground support equipment — power/light carts, forklifts, maintenance stands, ground power units, towbars, and fire bottles Remove and reposition chocks, grounding cables, and fire extinguishers during aircraft start while maintaining visual contact with the pilot Inspect aprons and parking areas for foreign object debris (FOD) and police the same Provide flightline transportation for passengers, baggage, and cargo Develop aircraft parking plans and position transient aircraft based on ramp flow and load Operate two-way radios to coordinate with the control tower and airfield operations Fuel / POL operations: Refuel and defuel aircraft (cold, warm, and hot refueling) in accordance with ATP 4-43 and

Position and ground the fuel tanker; conduct refueling only with a crewmember present Gauge tanks, set meters and dispensing valves, monitor fuel flow, and check for leaks Operate the fuel pits — receive

(F-24) from commercial tankers into underground storage; maintain authorized fuel levels Perform daily fuel testing (Aqua Glow), plus monthly and semiannual testing; segregate water from filter separators Perform cleaning, minor repair, and servicing of fuel pumps, motors, valves, strainers, and separators Maintain fuel-issue records (DA Form 3643) and keep refueling areas clean and safe Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned ground support equipment Required Qualifications Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements (valid and current) Valid state driver's license (prerequisite for the U.S. Government-issued airfield driver's license) Ability to obtain and maintain a current TSA Security Threat Assessment (required for the HAZMAT endorsement) Ability to obtain unescorted installation access following a favorable background check. Subject to random drug testing without notice (Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988; aircraft servicing is a designated critical/testing-designated function) Preferred Qualifications Prior military or DoD airfield fueling / POL experience Familiarity with Army aviation ground operations and applicable ATPs/TMs Forklift and ground support equipment operating experience Prior experience in flightline operations, aircraft ground handling, or aircraft/fuel servicing Working Conditions Outdoor flightline environment in all seasons (Wisconsin climate); work near operating aircraft, rotor wash, and jet exhaust Physical demands include lifting, bending, climbing on maintenance stands and ladders, and handling fuel hoses and grounding equipment Adherence to strict safety protocols around operating aircraft, hazardous materials, and fuel systems
Pay:
$31.00 - $32.00 per hour
