POSITION SUMMARY
The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver safely transports assigned riders using a company vehicle. Drivers must follow their assigned schedule, communicate with dispatch, document trip activity, maintain the assigned vehicle, and provide professional customer service. Remain reachable by dispatch during assigned working hours. Notify dispatch immediately about delays, no-shows, incorrect addresses, rider concerns, accidents, warning lights, vehicle problems, or other issues affecting the route. Use MediRoutes, Microsoft Teams, GPS navigation, and other required mobile applications. Enter accurate and timely trip statuses, mileage, notes, receipts, and other required information. Follow dispatch instructions for call-when-ready return trips and route reassignments. Perform required vehicle checks and report damage, warning lights, cleanliness issues, or maintenance concerns. Working smartphone with reliable calling, texting, mobile data, GPS, and application capability. Ability to read schedules and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use GPS navigation and learn mobile dispatch applications. Ability to document trip information accurately. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Ability to remain calm when dealing with traffic, schedule changes, delayed appointments, or upset riders. Ability to work independently while following dispatch instructions. Experience working with older adults, people with disabilities, or individuals receiving medical services. Experience using navigation, dispatch, scheduling, or workplace communication applications. Demonstrated history of punctuality, safe driving, and accurate documentation.
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS
Transportation schedules are based on rider appointments and are not always the same as a traditional fixed office schedule. Start times, trip volume, breaks between trips, delays, and finishing times may vary. Some return trips are call-when-ready because the rider and C-1st LLC may not know when the appointment will end.
Drivers are expected to:
Report on time for every accepted assignment. Review their schedule before the assigned start time. Remain available throughout the assigned route unless released or reassigned by dispatch. Communicate immediately when an emergency or unavoidable delay may affect attendance or a rider's trip. All C-1st LLC policies, safety requirements, operating procedures, route processes, and required applications will be explained during the employee's starting training week. New employees must complete the required training and demonstrate an understanding of company expectations before working independently.
Training may include:
Employee handbook and company expectations. Driving eligibility and safety requirements. Dress and professional conduct standards. MediRoutes, Microsoft Teams, and GPS navigation. Ability to work briefly outdoors during changing weather conditions. Ability to provide only the rider and mobility assistance covered by company training.
