Must be at least 21 years of age and have a current valid driver's license to operate the transportation vehicles for the ADC
Demonstrates sensitivity to participants needs and safety measures
Training in First Aid and CPR
Experience in assisting participants with impairments
Compliance with all state requirements for licensure certification
Training in basic transfer techniques and safe ambulation
Must abide by State and Local laws
Must not have had drivers license suspended or revoked for moving traffic violations in the past 5 years
(Drivers who receive citations and are convicted of two moving violations or accidents related to transportation will not be permitted to provide transportation.
)
Responsibilities and Functions:
Responsible for transportation to and from the facility and provide escort services as needed to ensure safety measures are carried out while transporting participants
Responsible for reporting behavioral changes or unusual incidents while participants are in their care
Responsible for keeping accurate time records as to when participants are picked up and drop off
Responsible for adhering to Policy and Procedures set forth by New Beginnings
Responsible for helping serve meals, assisting with participant's activities
Responsible for helping participants to and from the restroom and assist with incontinent episodes
Responsible for keeping vehicles clean and neat daily
Responsible for performing vehicle maintenance checks weekly and reporting on the appropriate forms noting any problems that needs attention and given to the Administrator
Transportation routes shall be adhered to daily. Paperwork should reflect proper documentation regarding the status of each participant.
