Job Summary:

Our agency is currently seeking individuals to fill our Behavior Interventionist roles. These positions offer an abundance of learning. Our positions range in level from a BI Level 1 to a BI level 3 with compensation that aligns with training and experience. The Backpack Program of Laraway Youth & Family Services is growing and seeks skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. The interventionist will provide individualized support to child or youth struggling to find success in public school due to social-emotional and behavioral challenges. Interventionist will provide support in social, recreational, and daily living skills in school, community and outdoor education settings. Successful candidates will have enthusiasm and talent in implementing and engaging students in behavioral programming. Full benefits package. Competitive wages Experience - Experience in human service delivery in settings serving children and youth is preferred. Additional requirements - Valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle is required. A strong sense of professionalism is required. The person shall present themselves as a strong role model for adolescents and demonstrate management and supervision of students. Successful candidates will be required to work across a variety of school settings and must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to effectively engage at risk youth. This role requires active/hands-on participation in a wide range of activities and settings, whilst building trust and confidence.

Work/Physical Requirements:

Given the at-risk population served, the position requires ongoing training and preparedness in the execution of physical restraint techniques. This may require running to catch a child. The \"Handle with Care\" training program used articulates that individuals with back and neck limitations are likely to be hampered in the execution of the protocols and greatly increases risk to harm to self or student. Ability to engage youth in physical activities such hiking, outdoor sports, etc. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
