Job DescriptionAre you ready to navigate your way toward a new career? Ingram Barge Company is looking to bring both entry level and experienced deckhands onboard to support our fleeting operations in Columbus, KY.
Before applying please note:
Must have Drivers Licenses Columbus vessels work a variety of schedules ranging from 21/21, 14/7 and 7/7. You will be assigned to a vessel after completion of Orientation. Candidates wishing for a position working a 28/28-day schedule should apply to the Linehaul Deckhand posting. Regardless of assignment and schedule, you will be reliable for your own transportation to and from your hitches.
What You Will Be Doing:
Assist deck crew in tow building (laying wires, tighten ratchets, sweep and shovel barges)Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping and cleaning crew living quarters)Assist with lockingCarry rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses and linesWork outdoors for extended periods of time in weather conditions such as heat/cold & rain/snowCheck barges for water and leaks - which at times requires climbing into confined spacesUpkeep of vessel appearance includes sooging (washing), chipping and paintingAssist the Engineer as requestedPractice safe crew, vessel and tow operation using Ingram safety systemsParticipate in safety drills and auditsPerform other related duties as assigned or requested
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
