As a Crew Mate, you will contribute to the seamless management of watercraft, uphold maritime safety standards, and support the overall success of our water transportation services. Duties Assist with vessel navigation using marine navigation systems and maritime piloting techniques to ensure safe passage. Perform rigging tasks and manual handling to prepare vessels for departure and docking operations. Conduct routine water transportation equipment maintenance to keep vessels in optimal condition. Support vessel management activities, including vessel inspections, mechanical checks, and adherence to US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations. Execute heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment and techniques. Communicate effectively with crew members through maritime crew communication protocols to coordinate daily tasks. Manage team activities as a ship supervisor when required, ensuring crew members follow safety procedures and operational guidelines. Follow maritime safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies. Maintain compliance with USCG regulations and industry standards for water transportation safety. Assist in managing water transportation logistics, including scheduling, route planning, and vessel positioning. Skills Proven experience in the water transportation industry or maritime environment with a strong understanding of vessel operations. Knowledge of marine navigation systems and maritime piloting techniques. Mechanical knowledge related to boat handling, vessel maintenance, and water transportation equipment upkeep. Familiarity with US Coast Guard regulations and maritime safety procedures. Experience with rigging, heavy lifting, and manual handling tasks in a marine setting. Ability to manage teams effectively as a ship supervisor or crew leader within a maritime context. Strong communication skills for coordinating with crew members and external partners in accordance with maritime crew communication standards. Background in managing vessel operations, including navigation, maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. Physical capability for manual handling tasks and performing routine maintenance activities on vessels.
