•Evening and weekend shifts are required•Looking for an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on Lake Erie for the summer? We are currently hiring deckhands for full-time or part-time positions! In this vital role, you will assist with the daily maintenance, safety, and operation of vessels, ensuring smooth sailing and a secure environment onboard. Your proactive attitude and dedication will contribute to delivering exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your maritime skills in a dynamic, team-oriented setting. Responsibilities Assist with the safe loading and unloading of vessels, ensuring secure docking procedures. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning decks, painting, and minor repairs to keep the vessel in top condition. Support navigation activities by handling lines, operating ramps, and other equipment during docking and departure. Conduct safety checks and ensure all safety gear and life-saving equipment are in proper working order. Monitor deck areas for hazards or unsafe conditions and report any issues immediately to senior crew members. Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures to ensure preparedness at all times. Qualifications Must be available to work a rotating schedule including night and weekend shifts Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities. Willingness to learn maritime safety protocols and operational procedures. Prior experience in a maritime or outdoor manual labor environment is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Pre-employment and random drug screenings are required per USCG regulations
