Duties Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Load, unload, and secure packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Plan efficient routes using mobile devices to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals. Deliver packages directly to customers' homes or businesses, providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation at all times. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items, ensuring proper weight handling in the workplace. Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and communication records throughout your shift. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations with a focus on manual handling and moving heavy items. Strong knowledge of commercial driving, including operating box trucks, vans, or other large vehicles. Familiarity with route driving using mobile devices for navigation and delivery tracking. Ability to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for commercial vehicle operation. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients during deliveries. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or moving carts safely and efficiently. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly while following safe lifting practices in accordance with workplace safety standards.
