In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering new furniture from our warehouse or distribution facility to customers' homes and businesses. The position involves operating a box truck, safely loading and securing furniture, navigating daily delivery routes, and working as part of a delivery team to bring furniture into customers' homes. You will also assist with unloading, positioning, assembling, and installing furniture as required. Our drivers represent the company at every delivery. Professionalism, attention to detail, safe handling of furniture, and excellent customer service are essential to providing the high-quality delivery experience our customers expect. Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck or other company-approved delivery vehicle while complying with all traffic laws and company safety policies. Transport new furniture from the warehouse or distribution center to residential and commercial locations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues. Properly load, secure, and organize furniture in the truck to prevent damage during transportation. Safely unload and carry furniture into customers' homes, apartments, offices, and other designated locations. Work with a delivery helper or other team members to safely maneuver large, heavy, and oversized furniture through doors, hallways, stairways, and other areas. Protect customers' homes and property by using appropriate floor, wall, and furniture protection during deliveries. Assemble and install furniture according to company procedures and manufacturer instructions when required. Inspect furniture before and after delivery and immediately report any damage, missing pieces, or discrepancies. Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules using GPS, mobile devices, and delivery management systems. Communicate professionally with customers before and during the delivery process. Confirm delivery details, obtain customer signatures or digital confirmations, and accurately complete all required delivery documentation. Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of the delivery truck and equipment. Follow warehouse procedures when picking up, loading, staging, or returning merchandise. Handle customer concerns professionally and notify management or dispatch when additional assistance is required. Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at every customer interaction. Follow all company policies regarding safety, vehicle operation, furniture handling, customer service, and delivery procedures. Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in furniture delivery, home delivery, moving, installation, or a similar position is preferred. Experience operating a box truck . Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and maneuver heavy and oversized furniture. Ability to work as part of a two-person or multi-person delivery team. Experience handling residential furniture such as sofas, sectionals, beds, mattresses, dining tables, chairs, dressers, cabinets, and other large household items. Basic knowledge of furniture assembly and installation is preferred. Ability to safely navigate stairs, tight spaces, doorways, elevators, and other challenging delivery environments. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to follow delivery instructions, route schedules, and company procedures. Comfortable using smartphones, GPS, tablets, and delivery management applications. Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with Dispatch and management. Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventing product and property damage. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and remain professional throughout the workday. Physical Requirements Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy furniture and other merchandise. Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs, and maneuver furniture safely. Ability to work outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely handle large and bulky furniture with a delivery partner. Ability to remain physically active throughout the delivery route.
