Duties Safely operate a daycare van to transport children between designated locations during scheduled hours Assist children with boarding and disembarking, including wheelchair assistance when needed Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and emergency response procedures during transportation Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is clean, maintained, and safe for children Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding transportation schedules and any delays or issues Respond quickly to traffic changes or road hazards to ensure timely arrivals and departures Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incidents or concerns during transportation Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable Certification in First Aid and CPR; knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation is essential Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading mobility aids or equipment Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse communities Familiarity with student discipline policies and behavior management techniques Ability to respond swiftly to traffic changes and emergency situations while maintaining composure Knowledge of school policy guidelines related to transportation safety and passenger care This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute positively to children's daily routines while developing your skills in transportation safety, child care support, and customer service.
