Job Description
Rummy, Inc. has contracted with FedEx Ground for the delivery and pick up of packages. We are hiring for pickup and delivery drivers. Various shifts are available, including full time, part time, and weekends only. Both weekend days are required for all new hires. We dispatch from FedEx in Sauget, IL and service Belleville, Swansea, O'Fallon, Mascoutah, Waterloo, Red Bud, Sparta, and surrounding areas. Job Responsibilities Lift and carry packages throughout the day while delivering the packages to businesses and residences in a commercial delivery truck. Drive a company owned commercial vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Perform daily pre & post trip vehicle inspections. Attend weekly safety meetings and daily huddles. Comply with all Rummy, Inc. safety rules and regulations. Utilize electronic applications to document safety education and inspections. Superior and courteous customer service. Qualifications Valid driver's license - A minimum class "D" license in Illinois or a class "E" in Missouri. Clean driving record. No suspended licenses. No accidents or driving violations. Drug free - you must pass a drug screen, including marijuana. Must have legal status to work in the USA. Must be punctual, energetic, reliable, and an honest team player. Must be able to pass a road test including DOT pre & post trip inspections. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a background check. No felonies in the past 7 years. Must be flexible with scheduling. A 5 to 6 day work week is expected. You will be expected to work 8 to 10 hour days, depending upon incoming delivery volume. Normal hours are 8:00 am until done. For full-time employees, a 5 day work schedule is expected between Monday and Sunday, with overtime available. The length of work day will vary daily depending upon tendered packages for the assigned area.
